Mission Statement
"To develop Anglia Community Leisure as a sustainable and key provider and partner in community based leisure and cultural services"
To achieve this we aim to provide quality services, achieve a secure financial base and future development programme and be a good employer.
Our Long term Vision is
"that whole commmunities have adopted healthier lifestyles through regular participation in leisure and cultural activities of their choice"
For the community we therefore will ensure that the facilities that we manage are fit for purpose and meet community demand, that our activity programmes are balanced, wide ranging and accessible to the whole community. We aim to increase the numbers and frequency of people participating in physical activity for the benefit of their health and well being.
Partners
We have a management agreement with Forest Heath District Council www.forest-heath.gov.uk to manage a range of their leisure facilities and services. These include the Newmarket, Mildenhall (Dome) and Brandon Leisure Centres, Mildenhall Swimming Pool and George Lambton Playingfield, Newmarket.
Our flagship facility is Newmarket Leisure Centre, which opened in January 2009 following a major re-investment to provide a new swimming pool and improved facilities for the town. Brandon Leisure Centre was redeveloped in the autumn of 2011 and repoened in December 2011 with a new 45 station fitness studio, Multi use studio for group excercise, functions and meetings. The centre reception was also made open plan and more welcoming.
We work with a number of partners, delivering a range of leisure activities within local community venues and open spaces across the Forest Heath area.
The Future
Our priority for 2013/14 is to review the future of the Mildenhall leisure facilities in partnership with the Forest Heath District Council.
